Specialist Bed & Breakfasts - Heritage & Culture
Ireland is steeped in history - castles, churches, tombs, storytelling, music and dance - something for the mind and the soul. Our specialist Heritage & Culture homes have visited and experienced first hand their local sites and visitor centres. They will have brochures on site and can pre-book tickets, tours and exhibitions and will let you know which pub has the best Seisún with tales and songs of old Ireland. You’ll drift off to sleep that night tapping your feet!!!
Breezemount House
In the famous ballad ‘Kitty of Coleraine’, she had her heart stolen by Barney McCleary at the fair in the town. He has long since left, and the names to look out for now are Leslie Campbell and Nicole Wood, your attentive host at Breezemount House. For the past 10 years Leslie and Nicole who is fluent in European languages have been welcoming guests with many return visitors.
Church View
When seeking out your accommodation in the village of Gurteen, nestled in the hills of Sligo, a good clue is that it is not too far from the local spire!! Modern, spacious and extremely relaxing, Church View with its imposing local stone façade belies the warmth and comfort awaiting inside.
Cruckawn House B&B
‘Make our house your home’! This is the welcome proffered by Joe and Maeve Walsh to guests visiting Cruckawn House over the past 28 years - how could you pass up an offer like that? Especially when it is complimented by the aroma of freshly baked porter cake, just one of the specialties created by Maeve after years of running her own home bakery. Another temptation is her Cherry & Walnut cake, otherwise known as ‘Joe’s Delight’; this may not be as readily available!
