This was our second visit to Lockinver Farmhouse and it was just as enjoyable as our first. We stayed two nights this trip and enjoyed the warm hospitality of Helen and Don Forde. The house and setting is beautiful with lively conversation and close to Kinsale.

Beautiful home. Great views and wonderful breakfast. A little to far out of town for those who are not use to Irelands winding roads. Very peaceful.

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. The owner, Helen Forde, was very hospitable and knowledgeable about the area and we had wonderful conversations with her. The facility itself was very nice: clean, spacious and comfortable. The setting was wonderful: An active dairy farm. We were invited to watch an evening milking and were able to talk in detail with Mr. Forde and his son about the operation. The breakfasts were delicious. The city of Kinsale was about a 20 minute drive away. We would strongly recommend this to anyone who was interested in staying in a more rural/pastoral setting vs. "in town" and getting a real sense of what life is like in the Irish countryside. We assume that a "5" on your rating is the highest rating possible you dont say, as that is what we would give the Lochinver Farmhouse.

We loved the Lochinver Farmhouse It sits atop rolling farmland and affords spectacular views of the river below which leads directly to the charming port of Kinsale. We were arriving late to Lohinver and called ahead to alert our hostess. She assured us our arrival was no problem and that we should stop in Kinsale and enjoy dinner before heading out to Lochinver. The farmhouse is absolutley lovely and immaculate. It has earned every one of its four stars. There is ample parking and our room was lovely and comfy. The en suite bath and shower were spotless and nice soaps, shampoos, and conditioner were provided along with a blow dryer. Breakfast was ample and delicious I highly recommend Lochinver for anyone visiting the Kinsale area

This was probably the best appointed BB of our trip. We shared a twin bedded room with a large bath. The shower was powerful which is a huge plus in Ireland. The bed and bath linens were very high quality and all the amenities we appreciate were set out. Large windows brought the outside in - the River Room overlooked the river and beautiful pasture lands. It was a lovely sight to see the cows coming in for milking at 7:30 AM. Mrs. Forde was very helpful with directions and guidance of pubs for dinner. Her breakfast was the best of the trip complete with artfull presentation. A minor negative was the breakfast room was set for 6 at one table and 2 at a smaller table. This was not condusive to group chatter and we felt left out. This is a 4 star BB and a very good choice.

I would recommend staying with Helen to anyone traveling to Ireland. She was a delightful and helpful hostess. Our room was so sweet, crisp, and warm, both in appointments and in temperature. We were cold in other homes, but all of Helens details made us feel welcome and wrapped in her hospitatlity. If I ever go back to Ireland, I would like to see her again and stay in her lovely home not far from Kinsale.

What a nice place Lochinver Farmhouse is a bit out of the way, but it is a real gem. Wish we werent so busy touristing, because this was a comfortable BB in a lovely country setting. Helen pays attention to details of her guests comfort, and her breakfast is amazing. She was very helpful with suggestions and directions. We would stay there again in a heartbeat

Lochinver Farmhouse is located on a winding country road with the most amazing views of County Cork farmland that you will ever see, about 10-15 minutes away from Kinsale. We stayed there with our two children ages 8 11 and our rooms were spotless and lovely. The food was ample and delicious and Helen was very helpful in giving directions and local recommendations. It is a little out-of-the-way, but totally worth getting off the beaten track for the views and hospitality. Highly recommended, especially for families traveling with children.

We loved our stay at the Lochinver Farmhouse It was the most peaceful place weve ever been. While it took some determination to find it without a GPS, we were rewarded for our perseverance Sunrise at Lochinver will long live in our memory with the cows grazing on the hill, the river winding its way through the countryside, and the sun peeking through the early morning clouds. Then we were treated to Helens delicious breakfast and genuine hospitality before we set out for a walk to breathe in the morning air. We loved our room - it was spotless and comfortable with little touches and details that made us feel welcome. We truly loved our stay...

Our stay at Lochinver Farmhouse was very warm and gracious. The accommodations were very nice and quite comfortable, and the breakfast was wonderful. The hostess was very kind to direct us to a local restaurant for dinner the night we arrived where we had a very nice meal.

Helen was a gracious host and a great cook The farmhouse had some of the best views I experienced in Ireland. Off the beaten path but well worth trip the trip Helen was extremely accomodating especially when she printed out a Google map so I could take a morning run. The early morning run along the country roads with just me and the grazing cows was extremely peaceful - definitely what I thought Ireland would be like Fabulous property
